Dafydd 2
The driver returns to the cab of 56078 at Woodhouse Junction after
completing a run round. The 56 was taking empty MGR hoppers from Worksop
Yard to Oxcroft Opencast disposal point for loading. Note the driver is
carrying a tail lamp. It is now common practice for the driver to perform
the run round alone, therefore, when the train arrived at Woodhouse the spare
tail lamp carried on the locomotive was attatched to what was then the
leading hopper. The loco is run round to the rear, and when attatched the
lamp from the rear is removed and put in the cab. This saves time by
avoiding the need to walk the length of the train to retrieve the original
lamp.
